Wheat Council Seeking Candidates for Board of Directors

The Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Councilis seeking candidates for three positions on its board ofdirectors. Members of the Minnesota Wheat Researchand Promotion Council are elected to direct Minnesotawheat checkoff dollars for wheat promotion and researchactivities.Board members must be wheat producers willing toserve as leaders and advocates for the Minnesota wheatindustry and to work to improve industry profitability andviability. To be considered, a person must have shared inthe profits and risk of loss from producing wheat duringthe current or preceding marketing year.Directors are elected to serve three-year terms, and theboard meets approximately eight times throughout theyear.Minnesota wheat producers who are interested inrunning for a board seat need to indicate their interest priortoDecember 15, 2009.Interested candidates should contact Pete Kappes,nominations committee chairman, ph. 218-784-7581,email: ckappes@loretel.net.
