AgriPro Wheat names Tweed Regional Manager

AgriPro Wheat has named Denis Tweed as spring wheat regional business manager.

Tweed has over 20 years of experience in the seed industry, including five years with AgriPro. In his new position, Tweed will oversee spring wheat sales in the Northern Plains, working with dealer-associates in the region.

He replaces Bob Knudson, who is now semi-retired after working for AgriPro for 24 years. Knudson continues with AgriPro Wheat as senior consultant and Pacific Northwest business manager, leading company efforts to expand wheat sales in the Pacific Northwest.

Tweed says a key objective in his new position is working with the spring wheat industry for the 2000 launch of two new AgriPro spring wheat varieties geared for the Clearfield Production System, trademarked formerly through American Cyanamid, now BASF.

The two new varieties, one adapted for production north of I-94 in the spring wheat growing region, and the other south of I-94, are conventionally bred with natural tolerance to the herbicide imazamox, which will enable season-long, broad-spectrum control of numerous weeds, including wild oats and foxtail.
