Anderson receives MAWG Merit Award Tom Anderson, a Barnsville, MN, producer, received the MAWG Meritorious Achievement Award during the Prairie Grains Conference.
The award is bestowed on an individual who has made a significant contribution to the U.S. wheat industry and more specifically, to the Minnesota wheat industry. Anderson, only the fourth person to receive the
award since its inception over 20 years ago, has played a key role in helping to establish stronger research programs at state and national levels to fight scab in small grains.
Currently, he serves as co-director of the U.S. Wheat and Barley Scab Initiative. He also serves as chair of the Small Grains Research & Communications Committee. Represented by a cross-section of the
wheat industry, this committee works on behalf of the MWRPC to identify wheat research priorities, and disseminate research results.
