Art Brandli, a leader in the wheat industry, has retired from the MN Wheat Council after many years of
service. Brandli operated a diversified grain farm near Warroad, MN and raised wheat, canola, soybeans, barley, sunflowers, and certified grass seed over the years. He recently sold their operation and, in
retirement, Art is managing a transition from production agriculture to forest and wildlife production for the new owner. Art holds Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Master of Business Administration degrees
from the University of MN. Some of the organizations Art has been involved with include the MAWG/MWC, University of Minnesota Crookston advisory committee, Northwest Minnesota Initiative Fund, and he is currently
Co-chair of the U.S. Wheat and Barley Scab Initiative.
The Minnesota Wheat Council thanks Art for his many years of dedicated service to the Council and the wheat
industry.
Tim Sedlacek, Warren, MN, was recently was elected to the Minnesota Wheat Research and
Promotion Council, located in Red Lake Falls, MN. Sedlacek grows wheat, soybean and sugarbeets in Marshall County and looks forward to serving on the Council.“I think that in order to keep wheat profitable in
Minnesota as producers, we need to invest in research to make sure that wheat is competitive with other crops. I am happy to serve the wheat industry and help direct the Council’s check-off dollars appropriately,”says Sedlacek.
Sedlacek has a three-year term and represents District 1. He fills the open position vacated by Brandli.
