About the 2006 Hard Red Spring Wheat-Durum Wheat Management  Calendar:

 The concept of a management calendar to help wheat producers plan treatments was conceived a number of years ago by Ed Vasey, longtime soils specialist with the NDSU Extension Service, known also as “The Spring Wheat Doctor.”  Ed has since passed away, but the calendar lives on through Lee Mayer, in cooperation with Ed’s wife Joyce.  Lee worked cooperatively with Ed, and continues to offer a crop advisory service known as Crop Watcher. This year’s 2006 Wheat Management Calendar is sponsored by the Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council- Wheat producers funding wheat research, promotion and education through the Minnesota Wheat Checkoff since 1978.
