NDSU Handbook Offers Soil, Fertilizer Information

“North Dakota Soil and Fertilizer Handbook” is a 90-page publication that includes easy-to-understand descriptions, color photographs, tables, illustrations and a glossary of fertilizer industry and soil science terms. It also contains recommendations on the types and amounts of fertilizer to use on 25 crops.  The soil section discusses the various types of soil in N.D., the soil’s physical properties, soil’s susceptibility to erosion, the effect of tillage on the soil and how to sample soil.  For a copy, contact the NDSU Agriculture Communication Distribution Center at (701) 231-7882 or dctr@ndsuext.nodak.edu.
