NDGGA Spring Wheat Contest Winners

Winners in the 2006 North Dakota Grain Growers Associations’ Spring Wheat Production Contest were Gary Heyerdahl, Griggs County (pictured left), Stuart & Katie Dilse, Slope County (pictured center) and Craig Dewald, Kidder County (pictured right) for winning in their respective district.  Each took home a Honda Rancher 4X4, and every participant who entered will be receiving a Carhart or Columbia jacket. 

The winning variety in the west was Reeder; Knutson in central N.D.; and Kelby in the east district.  The contest was judged on percentage of contestant’s yield over their NASS county average. The state was split into regions of Wheat Commission districts and each producer submitted fields no smaller than 40 acres and no larger than 80 acres per county that they farm in.
