Prairie Grains is the
official publication of
the Minnesota
Association of
Wheat Growers,
North Dakota Grain
Growers Association,
South Dakota Wheat,
Inc., and the
Minnesota Barley
Growers Association.

The Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers' wheat news segment on DTN seems to be reaching a new plateau with every summer the last few years.

Updated daily, the five-pages of wheat news on DTN was launched in the summer of 1993 as a MAWG membership incentive to Minnesota wheat growers. Last summer, the service was made available to members of the North Dakota Grain Growers Association.

This summer, more pages were added to accommodate two other states now aboard: the Montana Grain Growers Association and the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers.

"Working with Kansas, North Dakota, and Montana to deliver quick, electronic information to the growers that make up our organizations makes sense," says Kris Versdahl, assistant director of the MAWG. "I think this informational partnership on DTN is just the beginning of what's possible as far as establishing communication links with and among growers."

Wheat news on DTN is just one facet of the MAWG's membership program. Available to new three-year members is a black fabric briefcase embroidered with the MAWG logo, and a sample of Harmony Extra.

Further, now offered to new one and three-year members is a MAWG resource handbook, which includes your own personalized stationery and business cards.

The handbook extensively compiles phone numbers and addresses of contacts, including state and federal lawmakers, crop experts, commodity groups, farm media, and others in the ag industry.

If you're not already a MAWG member, send in the MAWG membership application below. For more information on getting in on the MAWG's DTN information loop, contact Kris Versdahl at 1-800-242-6118.
