The Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers is sponsoring the only 1997 Pro Farmer SuperStrategies Seminar to be held in North Dakota or Minnesota, on March 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Northland Inn in Crookston, MN.

Mike Ohrt, Pro Farmer’s Team Leader and Sales Manager, and Dan Manternach, President of Pro Farmer, will lead the program.

Topics of the seminar include:

• Vertical investment strategy, a new concept in co-op investment that provides protection against rising input costs.

• Outlook and strategies for land and interest costs.

• Market and land price outlook, along with a discussion of marketing strategies for 1996 production and the 1997 crop to come.

• Changes in government farm programs and policies, and the effects they will have on agriculture.

• Risk management in light of the new farm bill and its freedom to farm provisions.

• Global marketplace: a report on international competitors and their trading strategies.

• 1997 Grain price outlook and marketing strategies.

The seminar is free for MAWG and NDGGA members. The fee for non-members is $50 at the door, but registering before Feb. 21 lowers the price to $35 for nonmembers.
