Research IdeasWhat don’t you know? We want to know!
The basics of wheat production haven’t changed much over the years but little things have combined to make big differences in yield, quality and/or costs.
Many of these changes came about by a simple idea or question from a grower. Someone was listening or maybe a grower took the questions on themselves, but somewhere, someone or a team of people went to work to find an answer and deliver solutions that farmers could use.
We want your questions and ideas to be a starting point for developing research projects and funding teams that can help answer the many questions growers have.
So as you have time to reflect on the 2011 crop and previous crops, think about things you don’t know but wish you could know. We are looking for those questions and ideas you have that could improve your chances of producing a successful wheat crop each year, even under unprecedented weather conditions.
When you come up with a question or two – big or small – we want you to share it with us. We will compile them with other growers’ ideas and questions. Individually or together, they may just become the basis for the next research project that will have an impact in your profitability. No idea or question is too big or too small, too local or too broad.
Thank you for your participation.
